JIM ROBITAILLE : GUITAR

Guitarist and composer Jim Robitaille has studied guitar and improvisation with Jon Damian at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Workshops and master classes have included artists Dave Liebman, Bob Brookmeyer, Jimmy Heath and Brazilian composer / educator Antonio Adolpho. Jim has performed throughout New England and St. John [USVI] as a sideman and a leader with artists such as Greg Abate, John Harrison, Jim Odgren, Matt Gordy, Kenny Wenzel, John Lockwood, John Allmark, Lello Molinari and Bobby Green and Coleus. 

Jim has been the recipient of four grants funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council for performances with his groups. His music has received airplay on many regional radio stations including WOTB, WBRS, WSMU, and “Eric in the Evening” WGBH radio. He has led workshops and concerts for the jazz programs at several colleges and High Schools in New England including the annual U. Mass. Dartmouth Jazz Festival. 

In addition to leading his own groups and work as a sideman, Jim also teaches privately at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA and at the Symphony Music Shop in North Dartmouth, MA.
