Jimi “JD” Beauregard a native New Bedfordian, started drumming at an early age and played locally in the 70’s with Arson and Painted Water. He moved to Maine in the early 80’s and earned a BS in Aquatic Ecology from Unity College in 1984. While living in rural Maine for 10 years, JD played
and toured with many bands including East Coast
Mojo, Wildfire, and The Sundogs. Returning to New Bedford in 1991, he began to experiment with different types of ethnic hand percussion, honing his skills during tenure with This Side of Seven.
He also continued to polish his “kit drum” techniques by joining fusion and progressive rock outfits including Soul’d Out!, The Sarah Bishop Band, Winged Monkey, and Awaken. JD is an avid backpacker and whitewater kayaker who seeks to expand his talents as a musician and a human being. “The more you know, the more you know you don’t know what you know.”
